Prices for Typing Services
If we need to type your document from a hard copy, or if we need to retype a document due to problems with an electronic file, we charge a flat rate of $25/hour. We will not type or re-type your document without prior approval from you.

Price Sheet for Critiquing
A critique is part of every proofreading and editing job we do, but if you want only a critique, and want no additional proofreading or editing services, there is a minimum charge of $15.00, which will cover the first thousand words. The cost for longer documents is $15, plus $1.00 per hundred words for all words beyond the first thousand. A stand-alone critique is more detailed than the cursory critique that accompanies proofreading.
If you request a critique, and then decide you want additional proofreading or editing performed, the additional work is performed at the standard rate minus $.20/hundred words.

Editing prices will be based on the number of words in either the original copy or the final copy, whichever is greater.
The following editing prices apply to all of our editing services, including editing the following kinds of documents:

- Other Technical Editing

- Family Histories.

Long documents (>20,000 words) will generally require a deposit before work will begin. Payment and delivery schedules will be agreed upon before the work begins.
Research we perform to check the accuracy of references, quotations, facts, dates, etc., will be agreed upon in advance and will be billed at a flat rate of $35.00 per hour. We have access to several hundred technical journals, online and printed versions of state and Federal regulations, and thousands of other reference sources. We will gladly verify the accuracy of any information you wish.
