Fred Roth

For the last fifteen years, Fred Roth has been working as a technical writer and editor at a national nuclear engineering laboratory operated by the U.S. Department of Energy. During that time, he has written and edited scientific reports, journal articles, business presentations, investigation reports, audit reports, compliance manuals, policy statements, and hundreds of technical procedures (detailed instructions for operating nuclear reactors, nuclear processing equipment, etc.).
As part of his work at the laboratory, he has been trained in accident investigation, readiness evaluation, causal analysis, and proposal writing. He is extremely familiar with U.S. federal and state requirements (particularly DOE, OSHA, and EPA regulations) and has several years of experience in implementing government regulations into business documentation.
Fred also developed and taught a number of courses at the laboratory, including classes on technical writing, business writing, readiness reviews, and self-assessments.
Before his work at the laboratory, he taught composition and literature classes at Brigham Young University and at Ricks College (now called BYU-Idaho). He has a master's degree in English and a bachelor's degree in sociology.
Fred's hobbies include writing science fiction and building wooden boats.

Kimberly Shumway

Kimberly received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Utah State University, with departmental honors. Her major was English with a professional writing emphasis. Kimberly is an award-winning poet who has published several poems.
In addition to her poetry, Kimberly has written software documentation, user manuals, formal sales proposals, and marketing literature. Kimberly also is a partner in Mesazone Webpages (http://webpages.mesazone.com/).
In her spare time, Kimberly teaches computer skills to middle school students in Rexburg, Idaho.
